**Postrealism** is a philosophical approach that defines itself in relation to [[wikipedia:Philosophical_realism|Realism]]: whereas realism assumes that knowledge and concepts can correspond to an independent reality, postrealism emphasizes that knowledge and concepts are not independent and what we call "objective" is always mediated by cognition and social structures.
